Scoliosis is the term used to describe an abnormal curvature of the spine from side to side. Almost everyone has some degree of curvature. If this curvature is too great, it can severely impact someone’s mobility. This can lead to pain in the back and hips, as well as place a tremendous amount of stress on the ligaments, tendons, and vertebrae.
Particularly in children who are still growing and developing, scoliosis can get worse over time. Eventually, this curvature may start to compress the lungs and abdominal organs, leading to major issues. Fortunately, there are treatment options available.

We can use adjustments and manipulations to move the vertebrae manually, to a certain extent. Then, we can work with our patients on exercises that can be performed to gradually shift the spine back into its proper alignment. Our goal is to strengthen the muscles of the back, providing added support. With chiropractic, we help some of our patients stay out of the operating room.
